A worm falls asleep on a flower,
and wakes up inside an apple.
He slithers out with a full stomach,
blessing his good fortune
Forbidden fruit hanging so high.
My neck slips through the noose,
as I reach out.
A bite and snap into the flesh,
sweet lifeblood between my teeth.
Round, voluptuous fruit,
oh, how you fit so nicely,
in my warm hands
about your innocent self.
Every day, every morning
only one fruit to a better health.
I am the richest woman
because I have but one apple.
Sweet blossoms shaking ever so slightly,
as a breeze giggles through the branches,
which would compose such a symphony of thuds,
if arriving a few months thence.
A ladder propped against the trunk,
two lovers in the tree,
comparing dreams and conquerings softly,
as their feet dangle underneath the leaves.
A seed is worth more than a fortune.
The birds gather about the orchard
because they know of the great feast
about to come in their honor
as they celebrate life and provision.
